DOC PRODUCES A FEW QUITE HIGH GRADE GUNS ONE AT A TIME AND SLOW WHILE WAITING FOR THE PHONE TO RING. MANY OF HIS PIECES ARE EXPERIMENTAL AND SOME ARE QUITE UNUSUAL.. HE ONCE DID RESEARCH AND DEVELOPEMENT FOR WHITE RIFLES LLC ,AND A FEW OTHERS, BUT THAT STUFF IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIG SECRET.

HE ALSO MAKES TRADITIONAL FLINTLOCK AND PERCUSSION RIFLES AND SHOTGUNS, HAWKENS, PEMMSYLVANIA-KENTUCKY RIFLES, DOUBLE BARRELED RIFLES AND SHOTGUNS, THE OCCASIONAL MUZZLELOADING DRILLING, JAEGERS, TRADITIONAL CARVED AND ENGRAVED FLINT GUNS OF THE COLONIAL PERIOD AND A FEW PLAINS RIFLES. DEFINITIONS:

Accurized-means that various standard techniques have been utilized to render the gun more accurate, usually including glass bedding, barrel straightening, bore cleansing, sometimes includes bore scrubbing, bore lapping and conditioning.

Composite-means glass and sometimes Kevlar fiber reinforcement in a molded stock. All such stocks are finished by painting, some few might have a fake fancy wood finish.

‘GBW’-are Doc White’s initials. If ‘GBW’ is on the gun, it means that he personally had something to do with the piece, sometimes to its benefit.

'in the white' means that the gun is completely assembled and functional with all parts in place, wood is sanded to at    least an 80  grit finish, metal has the rough edges polished off and is shaped. Does not include staining on wood, oil or varnish, metal brown or blue, or bright polish on metal. The buyer is expected to finish sand, stain and oil or varnish the wood, finish polish & brown or blue the metal and engrave where indicated.

Calibers-are quoted in three numerals, White fashion, except round ball guns are noted in two.

doc white designed guns and variations:

S-SERIES RIFLES: BASED ON AN IN-LINE ACTION ORIGINALLY DESIGNED BY DOC WHITE IN THE LATE 1960'S,  AND DEVELOPED OVER THE NEXT FEW DECADES, SOLD IN 1991 AS THE SUPER-91, LATER AS THE SUPER-91-II, GRAND ALASKAN AND EVENTUALLY THE THUNDERBOLT.

Super -91's were made in two versions. The ‘early’ sported a Mauser type hinged trigger (up to about serial #600), a side swing safety and a spring clip hammer housing retention detent. The ‘later’ action (beginning at about serial #600) had a screwed on trigger, a pull and twist secondary safety as well as one on the trigger, and a screw-in detent to hold the hammer housing in place.

SUPER-91-II'S LACKED THE RIB THAT ORIGINALLY DECORATED THE SUPER-91, WITH DELRIN RAMROD FERRULES AND TRIGGER GUARD

THE GRAND ALASKAN WAS A HEAVY BARRELED , HEAVY CALIBERED SUPER 91 WITH STEEL FERRULES AND TRIGGER GUARD

THE THUNDERBOLT SPORTED A BOLT ACTION, ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL DESIGN THAT THE SUPER 91 DESCENDED FROM.

G-SERIES RIFLES- BASED ON A BASIC DESIGN BY DAVID GUMUCIO, REFINED BY DOC AND BROUGHT INTO PRODUCTION AS THE WHITETAIL, THEN LATER THE M97 WHITETAIL HUNTER, THE M97 LITE, AND  THE BISON , WHICH WAS A HEAVY BARRELED WHITETAIL

SG-SERIES- THE 'SMALL-G' SERIES, REPRESENTED BY A LIMITED RUN OF RIFLES, USING THE SAME INTERNAL PARTS AND SIMILAR IN FUNCTION TO THE WHITETAIL BUT WITH ONE-PIECE ACTION/BARREL  SMALLER IN DIAMETER AND LIGHTER IN WEIGHT.

BG SHOTGUNS- 'BIG-G' ACTIONS, SAME PARTS AND FUNCTION AS ALL THE OTHER G-SERIES ACTIONS BUT LARGE ENOUGH FOR A 12 GAUGE BARREL, REPRESENTED BY THE TOMINATOR AND WHITE THUNDER SHOTGUNS.

Whitetail rifles came with an ‘early’ stock made of either hardwood or black glass composite with or without checkering and with a 13.5 inch pull or a ‘later’ slimmer stock exclusively made of glass composite with checkering and a 14 inch pull. Refurbishd Whitetail rifles all come with NEW hardwood stocks with 14 inch pull.

     CUSTOM FULL- STOCK SUPER SAFARI

The Super Safari is my favorite model of all the rifles I've designed. I just love fullstocks. Custom Super Safari's are available using your Super-91, M98 or ThunderBolt action and barrel. email doc@whitemuzzleloading.com.

White Sporting Rifle with blued metal and English red laminate stock. Sidelock percussion with Manton Breech and flat spring lock, with White barrel. Shoots all White bullets. Similar rifles are available on custom order from White Muzzleloading with fancy walnut stocks. Prices start at $1200. Email for price and availability.

The Manton breech design on the White Sporting Rifle is the best and strongest ever devised, modern or antique. It's massive, functional, ergonomic and super-strong but handsome, far better than any Hawken percussion breeching.

#536- Here is a Winchester Model 1901 10 gauge lever action shotgun, designed by John BROWNING, manufactured by Winchester and shortened by someone for whatever odd reason. You would think that it got cut  for Cowboy Action Shooting but the cut looks old and matches the patina on the rest of the gun. The gun is fully functional, very solid and tight, no cracks or repairs, there are no markings other than Winchester's cipher. It is at  least NRA antique very good. There is a bit of fine pitting in the breech but not enough to stop you from shooting it with reasonable loads. It would be great fun at a SASS match with blackpowder loads. $900

#586 Uberti built Berretta repro of the Colt Lightning pump action rifle in 45 Long Colt. Brand New, fired only enough to prove it, LNIB, Perfect. Sacrifice $1000- OBO (originally sold for near $1200) Don't hesitate to make an offer.

#591 Doc built never fired Douglas barreled 338 Magnum on a highly modified Winchester-made Enfield P-17 action. The rear action bridge has been cut down and curved bolt handle added that will clear scope. The magazine has been straightened but left big enough for 4 cartridges. It has a fancy custom trigger and Warne scope mounts, plus barrel bands for sling and front sight. The recoil pad is a Decelerator. There's even a thumb cut-out on the left side of the action a' la Mauser. Pull is 14", weight is 9 lbs. I want $900 OBO for it but will listen to offers.  I will also need an FFL from your dealer. Make sure he understands that I don't have one since I usually deal in only muzzleloaders.

The rear sight is a folder to get out of the way of a scope. Warne mounts are already in place, ready for your scope. Warne one inch rings to match the mounts are included in the package.

This rifle was a back up gun for my many bear hunts but never fired it or used it, not even once

Most Enfeild rear bridges are pretty ugly, you can see that his one is quite attractive. Thumb safety is still the same, very convenient and quicK.

The magazine has been straightened, but left deep enough to hold 4 cartridges. Trigger pull is adjustable, about 4 lbs. now.  The action cocks on closing, actually faster on repeat shots than one that cocks on opening. This rifle is set up for dangerous game.

#601 Remington Rolling Block Black Powder action rebarreled to 50-110 by DOC, Barrel is by Douglas, never fired, round, 1 1/8th inch diameter and 30 inches long. Buttstock is maple by Treebone, the temporary fore-end is a chunk of plain walnut, it will eventually be replaced with matching maple. Pull is 14 inches. Weighs about 10 lbs. The bore is beautiful, never fired,  and it should be an excellent shooter. It will eventually end up sporting a tang mounted ladder rear sight and globe front which are included in the price.  FFL needed. $700 as is, MORE LATER WHEN FINISHED OBO

#620 . new, long stored White Thunder percussion 12 gauge shotgun, marked BG 2003. The finest turkey gun in the world. 90-95% first shot patterns with recommended loads. Based on the BG action, Rifle trigger with safety, secondary safety on the pull cock, cocks on the left like all modern sub-machine guns so your strong hand stays in place at grip with aces to trigger and safety. Straight rifled barrel with ventilated rib and Hastings Xtra-full, Modified and Improved Cylander chokes and a Bore-B-Dry. Strong American hardwood stock painted black with set-up for detachable sling. Rubber recoil pad a whole inch thick. Delrin ramrod with wad puller and cleaning jag. Pull 14 inches. Weighs 5.5 lbs. SOLD

These are truly fantastic turkey shotguns, especially for a muzzleloader. They shoot the best, tightest shotgun patterns I have ever seen. The secret is the lack of a shotshell to open and no forcing cone to blast  the shot through. Loading is exceptionally easy. The Hastings Extra-Full choke is .680 diameter, but the wonder wads and tapered White shotcup go through the choke with ease. You don't have to remove the choke to load.

Please sEe the loading information and articles on turkey hunting with these shotguns in the Books and Articles section of this website.

#625  Doc designed and built in-line Double Rifle, 504 caliber, regulated for 600 grain Slip-Fit bullets, previously owned, has been to Africa twice, has taken the bigger plains game and buffalo. Actions are in-line, very similar to the Doc-designed Whitetail and M97 rifles. Sights are on the money at 50 yards with bullets from both barrels grouping together. Best load is 120 gr PyorodexP with 600 grain White or No Excuse slip-fit bullet. It was traded back in on a finer rifle. $1500 OBO

Safeties are built into the in-line action. Pull the cocking handles back to full-cock then rotate them up into the safety notches. Knock them down to fire. In the left hand photo (immediately to the left) the left handed cocking handle is in the firing position and the right handed handle is up, locked into the safety position. In the right hand photo, both handles are locked up into the safety position. It uses the musket cap for sure ignition on dangerous game.

The barrels dismount from the stock by removing the 1/4 X 28 screw from the front of the trigger guard extension. There are two sets of recoil logs, both are glass bedded. The triggers come out with the barreled action. Sights are Marble fiber-optik red front and two dot green rear. The recoil pad is an inch thick. Pull is about 14.5 inches to the front trigger and the gun weighs about 10 lbs. It's a great rifle for close-up heavy game taking.

#641- WHITE Super-91-II Blue #SB745 in 504 caliber with B&C checkered black fiber-composite stock, single M70 type safety and Delrin ramrod. The barrel is 24 inches, twist 1-24 with shallow .035 grooves, meant to use heavy slip-fit bullets available from WhiteRifles.com or No Excuse Bullets. Shoots the heavier 300 grain sabots well, too. The sights are Williams adjustable with a brass bead front. It's already tapped and drilled for peep or scope. The ramrod is Delrin with double brass ends, a cleaning jag and a bullet puller under the jag. Pull is 14 inches and includes a heavy rubber recoil pad. It's cheap at $475 OBO You can read all about the Super-91 by clicking on the Super-91 tab at the top of the page    SOLD    BUT ANOTHER COMING JUST LIKE IT

This safety works nearly like the one on an M70 Winchester, push it off and on with a thumb, back is safe, forward is fire.

#650- White Super Safari #SB853 in 504 caliber, now just the new, but old stored barreled action in a brand new stock. More photos will follow as it finishes up. The photo is here just to tempt you.

#652- White early experimental Model 97 with non-production stock made of a heavy Delrin-like plastic, only one ever made, has a double palm swell and is fitted with safety slots on both sides of the action so it could be fitted up either left or right handed. This one is the only one I know of that has the cocking handle on the right and the safety on the left (the standard M97 is just the opposite) Action is stainless, barrel  by Criterion (best of all the barrel makers), it has a custom Warne top scope base and is shown with Warne QD rings and a Leuopold scope. It is equipped for 209 primers but can be easily converted to #11 or musket cap. The scope base comes with the rifle, the rings are extra, the scope is just for show. $400 OBO

#654 WHITE WHITETAIL EARLY NUMBER  BLUED STEEL IN 504 CALIBER WITH BLACK TEFLON FINISH.  All standard accutrements except the ramrod is wood tipped by brass drilled and tapped for accessories. The stock is plain but stout walnut with a pebbled black finish.  Thumb safety is on the right, cocking handle on the left as on all standard Whitetail rifles. Sights are by Williams with red bead front and adjustable rear. The recoil pad is a full inch thick. Already accurized and a proven shooter. Fired 6 times for accuracy. $325 OBO

I HAVE A SMALL NUMBER OF BARRELED ACTIONS FOR THE SUPER-91 IN .504 CALIBER AND THE TOMINATOR IN 12 GAUGE, BUT LACK A FEW SMALL PARTS TO COMPLETE THEM. THESE GUNS WILL APPEAR ON THE WEBSITE ABOVE AS I ACQUIRE THE PARTS TO COMPLETE THEM.
