                     DOC WHITE'S MUZZLELOADING

            CUSTOM, RE-FURBISHED AND USED MUZZLELOADERS

             MODERN-COWBOY-INLINE-PROTOTYPES

WHITE MUZZLELOADING SELLS, TRADES AND BUYS FINE QUALITY CUSTOM MADE MODERN DAY MUZZLELOADERS AND HIGH QUALITY IN-LINE MUZZLELOADERS. DOC PRODUCES A FEW QUITE HIGH GRADE GUNS ONE AT A TIME AND SLOW WHILE WAITING FOR THE PHONE TO RING. MANY OF HIS PIECES ARE EXPERIMENTAL AND SOME ARE QUITE UNUSUAL.. HE ALSO DOES RESEARCH AND DEVELOPEMENT FOR WHITE RIFLES LLC, BUT THAT STUFF IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIG SECRET.

HE ALSO MAKES TRADITIONAL FLINTLOCK AND PERCUSSION RIFLES AND SHOTGUNS, HAWKENS, PEMMSYLVANIA-kENTUCKY RIFLES, DOUBLE BARRELED RIFLES AND SHOTGUNS, THE OCCASIONAL MUZZLELOADING DRILLING, JAEGERS, TRADITIONAL CARVED AND ENGRAVED FLINT GUNS OF THE COLONIAL PERIOD AND A FEW PLAINS RIFLES. LATELY, HE'S BEEN INTO PAULY RIFLES (PAULY INVENTED THE INLINE IN 1812) AND DOUBLE BARREL FLINTLOCKS. THESE MORE TRADITIONAL GUNS CAN BE SEEN ON THE  CUSTOM TRADITIONAL PAGE.

DEFINITIONS:

Accurized-means that various standard techniques have been utilized to render the gun more accurate, usually including glass bedding, barrel straightening, bore cleansing, sometimes includes bore scrubbing, bore lapping and conditioning.

Composite-means glass and sometimes Kevlar fiber reinforcement in a molded stock. All such stocks are finished by painting, some few might have a fake fancy wood finish.

‘GBW’-are Doc White’s initials. If ‘GBW’ is on the gun, it means that he personally had something to do with the piece, sometimes to its benefit.

'in the white' means that the gun is completely assembled and functional with all parts in place, wood is sanded to at    least an 80  grit finish, metal has the rough edges polished off and is shaped. Does not include staining on wood, oil or varnish, metal brown or blue, or bright polish on metal. The buyer is expected to finish sand, stain and oil or varnish the wood, finish polish & brown or blue the metal and engrave where indicated.

Calibers-are quoted in three numerals, White fashion, except round ball guns are noted in two.

White Super-91 & Whitetail variations.

Super -91's were made in two versions. The ‘early’ sported a Mauser type hinged trigger (up to about serial #600), a side swing safety and a spring clip hammer housing retention detent. The ‘later’ action (beginning at about serial #600) had a screwed on trigger, a pull and twist secondary safety as well as one on the trigger, and a screw-in detent to hold the hammer housing in place.

Whitetail rifles came with an ‘early’ stock made of either hardwood or black glass composite with or without checkering and with a 13.5 inch pull or a ‘later’ slimmer stock exclusively made of glass composite with checkering and a 14 inch pull. Refurbishd Whitetail rifles all come with NEW hardwood stocks with 14 inch pull.

Similar rifles are available on custom order from White Muzzleloading with fancy walnut or brown laminate stocks. Prices start at $1000. Email for price and availability.

The Manton breech design on the White Sporting Rifle is the best and strongest ever devised, modern or antique. It's a massive and super-strong but handsome.

#552- WHITE THUNDER  SHOTGUN- This shot gun is new but old stock. It has never been fired. The action and barrel are the same as the White Tominator with super full Hastings choke and straight rifled barrel. Back in the 1990's, White made a small run of what was destined to be a cheaper shotgun, intending that the full production run would be done with hardwood stock painted black (instead of grey laminate) and non-rifled barrel. The full production run never happened. This is one of that initial run, The stock is beech, painted black. The barrel is marked WHITE THUNDER. It weighs about 5 lbs but patterns as well as any Tominator, just carries easier. Cheap at $300 plus S&H SOLD

This shotgun will kill Toms at 50 yards if you follow directions. First shot patterns using nickel plated shot average 90-95%, slightly less with copper plated shot.

#553 WHITE SUPER-91-II IN 451 CALIBER- New old stock barreled action, blued, in 451 caliber, accurized by DOC, Williams adjustable rear sight, gold bead front, adjustable trigger currently set at about 3 lbs, double safeties as usual. The delrin ramrod is held in place by two Rhinite ferrules. Stock is a grey alminate, refurbished from prior use on a ThunderBolt. The notch for the bolt has been filled in with a matching peice of wood, it's actually hard to see. The stock is otherwise in excellent shape with no big dings or digs. There are a few faint use marks here and there. Priced low because of the refurbished stock.SOLD

#547 Classic GR-Series Sporting Rifle in .504 caliber.   The stock grew on a grey laminate tree, is stained English Red and finished with Brownell's epoxy varnish. (Very tough and waterproof). The barrel is by White, round and tapered, 1 1/10th at the breech, in .504 caliber with 1-24 twist for White Slip Fit and Saboted bullets. The action is Classic English with heavy Manton style bolster  for the nipple, leaf spring actuated Henry side lock and external hammer. There is a single trigger that pull's off at about 4 lbs, a rubber recoil pad meant to mimic the English leather covered pads of yesterday, a single fore-stock cross-bolt held in place by German silver roundels  and under-rib with two ferrules for the ramrod. SOLD

The laminate has been stained English red, came out a very nice reddish brown, the English would have loved it. The metal is finishd with Brownell's baked on Gun-Kote in glossy GunMetal Blue- very handsome and every bit as tough as Teflon. The ramrod is drilled and tapped for accesories, The forearm follows Alexander Henry's style- matches the lock. Bore is new,  fired by DOC only to accurize. Price $1200, on sale until the end of October for $1000, then it goes to Track of the Wolf, where the price will go up 25%.
